Thoughts: I’ve always loved the 50′s style cat eye look – and for most – it’s not easy to achieve. I’ve tried the pots of liquid eyeliner that you paint on with an angled brush (too clumpy) and the liquid eyeliner wands with a brush tip (too uneven), but none of them ever go on smooth. I’m pretty sure they require you to be a professional make up artist in order to get it right.
Our good friends at L’Oreal were using their thinking caps when they created the Lineur Intense Felt Tip, because that’s exactly what it is- a felt tip marker! Not all of us are gifted painters, but we all know how to use a marker. This wonderful creation gives you just enough liner on the end of the felt tip so that it goes on even, and you can choose the thickness of the line depending on the amount of pressure you use. With other liquid liners, the bristles of the brush smudge and spread all over the place, but with the Lineur Intense Felt Tip, it’s like a little sponge so the shape of the tip stays the same while you pull it across. The end of the tip is also narrow, so it makes it simple to extend your line for a more dramatic cat eye. As for longevity, I find the other liners cake off and crumble onto your face by the end of the day, where L’Oreal’s formula stays put! I wear the Earthen Rock Brown on a daily basis since I have fair skin and hair, but when I really want to glam it up, I go for the Carbon Black.
The Verdict: I’ve been using this liner for years and I’ve received numerous compliments on it. It really makes the eyes ‘pop’ and it’s easy to use for even the most amateur beauticians.
